PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
What to Expect
The Jason Freeny Asia XXRAY Experience Store transformed the K11 Art Mall into a playground of curiosity and wonder. As visitors stepped through the doors, they encountered a fusion of artistry and science—an unconventional exploration of beloved pop culture figures. The centerpiece, the XXRAY Elmo, stood as a testament to Freeny’s ability to dissect and reimagine familiar characters. Beyond Elmo, the exhibition unfolded with meticulous attention to detail. Each sculpture, whether it was the enigmatic StayReal collaboration or the cheeky POPek, revealed hidden layers, intricate skeletons, and whimsical anatomical surprises. The experience was not only visual but also educational, inviting guests to appreciate the artistry behind the playful façade. From the vibrant colors to the intricate textures, the Anatomical Art Wonderland left an indelible mark on all who explored its delightful depths.
The store’s exterior featured a striking 3-meter-tall anatomized XXRAY Elmo sculpture, capturing the essence of Freeny’s unique vision. Inside, life-sized installations of beloved characters like One Piece’s Luffy and the whimsical Dissected POPek (designed in collaboration with London-based artist Whatshisname) awaited curious visitors. Additionally, the exhibition showcased rarely seen computer graphics that peeled back the layers of creativity behind these captivating characters.
